Discover new skills, brush up on old ones and explore your own creativity here at Combewater Studios situated on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in rural Devon.
With a broad range of interdisciplinary skills Alison Shelton Brown offers an holistic traditional approach with a focus on the promotion of skill as well as ideas. Her particular speciality is hand-built ceramic sculpture and art jewellery.
Alison is an artist who loves using a variety of materials such as clay and textiles, but also treasures the chance to reuse and recycle found bits and stuff whenever possible. She studied ceramics at Camberwell School of Art in the early 80s with some amazing tutors, and recently completed an MA at Bath School of Art in ceramics. She is a member of Design-Nation UK, and listed on the Crafts Council Directory. She is also a member of Klimt02, the leading contemporary art jewellery forum based in Barcelona, and exhibits her art jewellery and sculpture extensively. Alison was delighted to show her graduation work at Collect 2020 - the London international craft fair.
Group sizes for courses will be limited, with social distancing measures in place for the foreseeable future.
