Discover new skills, brush up on old ones and explore your own creativity here at Combewater Studios situated on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Devon / Dorset border.
With a broad range of technical skills and many years experience making textiles, Alison Shelton Brown is able to offer you a holistic, traditional and multi-disciplinary approach with a focus on the promotion of skill as well as ideas.
Alison's passion is all about texture in her artwork, often incorporating fabric and mixed materials to create unique sculptural pieces and wearable art. Since she was a young girl she was obsessed with making - knitting, dressmaking, crochet, quilts and needlefelting, and exhibited for many years in London galleries with Prism - an international textile group. While studying for a Masters degree at Bath Spa she experimented extensively with eco-printing using foraged plants to print and dye silk and wool to create environmentally-sustainable accessories and clothing.
Group sizes will be small with the ability to be socially distanced when necessary.
