Cactus
Mixing materials with clay delights me. Unexpected transformations after a kiln firing adds to the tension and magic when opening the lid!
Cactus is a more dangerous development of the Everlasting Blooms. Spiky and brittle as opposed to soft and sweet. I was inspired seeing cacti in a Paris apartment in March; in particular the new growth sprouting off at angles, and determined to make this mine.

Always searching for more affordable and efficient ways of making, I experimented using porcelain verses white stoneware, and when glazed could see no true difference in texture or weight, and of course there's less shrinkage with stoneware, so that is a bonus along with cost.
