Local Landscape - Jonathan Mulvaney

Jonathan will be taking over the Malthouse Gallery in Lyme Regis again this Easter. With forty new acrylic plein air paintings it'll be a real treat to see over the holiday weekend.

I love Jonathan's loose 'Impressionistic' painting style so it is always a joy to curate and promote his art exhibitions. 

Artist Statement

Jonathan Mulvaney has been painting in and around Lyme Regis for many years. His paintings of the town and the harbour have been very popular, as was his exhibition at the Malthouse Gallery last April. This year Jonathan has been prompted to turn his gaze towards Uplyme, and you may well have seen him out with his painting kit.

“I enjoyed the views walking along the River Lim last autumn, with the dappled light and rich autumnal colours, so I am looking forward to the Spring hues when they arrive and hope we have some warm sunny days. I have painted several pictures around the Church and views from its elevated position. If you see me at work, please don’t hesitate to say hello, I am always happy to have a chat.”
